the evolution of boxing Brazil

THE EVOLUTION OF BOXING BRAZILIAN

It is clear the development of the national boxing in recent years. The results of recent international Brazilian Olympic team demonstrate the correctness of the chosen path a few years ago.

Investments in financial resources, time and dedication to the selected country aspire to a position among the first in the world are not small. The Cuban government has been investing for nearly 40 years in Olympic boxing, so that it could achieve and maintain the current position of supremacy. And do not stop there. The commitment and work to maintain this position are uninterrupted. Other countries are getting closer and spending, aiming to lead gains in international tournaments. Just check the work that the European countries, especially East and Asia are doing.

Yes, there is still much to Brazil to reach the global positioning reported above. However, there is no denying that correct decision making by the Brazilian Confederation of Boxing are being translated into good results.

Take for example the year 2006 only. Brazil has already participated in four international tournaments this year. In early March, the Dominican Republic, International Tournament in Independence Cup, the Brazilian team brought six medals. Two gold, two silver and two bronze. He was in 3rd place in the competition, behind only the Dominican Republic and Cuba and ahead of traditional teams like Puerto Rico and Italy. But this award is an even greater significance when one considers that among the Brazilian wins included a few stars on Cuba. Myke Carvalho defeated Cuban Carlos Banteur. Banteur has over 200 fights. It was world junior champion in 2004 and silver medal in the World Cup 2005 Adult. In 2006, Cuban vice-champion and runner-up of the Cuban Olympic III. It is one of the main Cuban boxers at the time. In the same tournament, a spectacular victory, Washington Silva, 81 kg category, won Duniet Dorticos, Cuban vice-champion, runner-up last World Cup held in 2005 and silver medal in the Olympics Cuban III.

At the end of March in Puerto Rico, a result that surprised all the foreign journalists present at the International Boxing Tournament Cheo Aponte. Brazil was the winner of the competition that besides the host, Puerto Rico, with two teams, with the presence of several nations, including teams from the United States and England, countries with historically high-quality athletes. There were eight medals won by Brazilian: four gold, two silver and two bronze.

Between the last week of April and first half of May the Brazilian team traveled to Cuba to participate in two major competitions.

In the III Olympiad Cuban, 1500 athletes participated in several sports foreigners who joined the 3000 local competitors. In the form of boxing, Cuba signed the six best boxers in each weight category. Brazil is again positively surprised. It was the 3rd place behind only China and Cuba. We won five medals: one silver and four bronze. And again, on Brazilian Cuban victories. Pedro Lima defeated Cubans before qualifying for the playoffs. And James Dean Pereira also defeated a boxer from Cuba, in the quarter-finals.

And in the second competition held in Cuba, the International Tournament Eduardo Garcia had four provinces (states) entered Cuba, a more positive outcome. A second place in the competition, ahead of three of the four provinces of the island entered, accompanied by a gold medal, three silver and two bronze.

When reviewing the work done in the countries of Eastern Europe and Cuba are some considerations inherent in this thinking. First, primarily with respect to actions taken in Brazil. We mention a few. Courses open to coaches from different states at various levels, leading to further training within the same concept and techniques of the modern Olympic boxing taught by teachers in Brazil and from abroad. Training officer corps (referees and judges) within the modern rules of AIBA International Boxing Association, which led to the remoteness of those who volunteer for convenience, or inability to resist this essential practice. The creation of a permanent staff, as happens overseas and in accordance with the guidance of the COB. International exchange with greater participation in competitions abroad, even the criticisms of a few initial victories in the first year of implementation of new procedures. Support the COB Brazilian Olympic Committee believes that the current administration of the Confederacy, whose results are beginning to appear.

And second, to win medals in Olympics and World Championships is not a question of desire. All nations that intend to participate in these competitions are trying to evolve. Just check the results of recent international tournaments of major importance. The number of countries with the means to compete for athletes with medals in boxing is more than 20 years ago. All with the same ambition.

The same way will be hard and painful. You can not make predictions. In fact there is only one certainty. There is no other road. It's the same with every country trying to walk it to the end, some with more financial resources. But I found the road and go down. Already halfway.
